GREENFIELD, NH – Miles Forma, a 20 year-old student attending Crotched Mountain School , is a remarkable young man. Despite the challenges he has faced in his lifetime due to cerebral palsy, he devotes much of his time and energy to helping others less fortunate than himself. When he learned that more than 2 million people have fled their villages in the Darfur region of western Sudan , Miles decided to do something about this humanitarian crisis.

On Sunday, October 21st, 1:00 PM , the public is invited to attend a benefit for the Sudan relief effort at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center the in Carter Memorial Meeting House. The event will begin with a one-hour African dance workshop taught by Chelsea Agee and her husband/drummer, Surty "Anive" Holmes. Afterwards, Forma will present an analysis of the tragedy in Darfur and a brief synopsis of the Sudan relief effort sponsored by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). He will be joined in a question and answer session by James Mangok Wol, one of the "Lost Boys of Sudan" who is now employed at Crotched Mountain .

The public is welcome to attend free of charge. Contributions made payable to "JDC: Jewish Coalition for Sudan Relief" will be accepted gratefully. For further information, please call 603-547-3311, ext. 229.

Last year Forma raised more than $2,000 for the orphans of Rwanda after seeing the movie, Hotel Rwanda. He was deeply moved by the courage of the hotel manager, Paul Rusesabagina, whom Forma personally met the following month. Since then, Forma raised an additional $1,700 for the people of Darfur .
