Overview

Click_To_EnlargeSince 1963, Crotched Mountain School has specialized in providing educational, therapeutic, and residential services to students with developmental and physical disabilities, grades K-12.  We are accredited by the New England Assoc-
iation of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and are licensed by a number of northeastern states, including New Hampshire.  Crotched Mountain School is co-educational.  Total enrollment, including day and residential students, is 120 on average.  Applications may be submitted at any time.

Crotched Mountain offers students the chance to learn and grow at their own pace, and at their own level, from mastery of daily living skills through a high school diploma.  Opportunities abound for them to discover and develop their talents.  We offer classes in art, music, computer-aided design, horticulture, and woodworking.  After school, students may choose to participate in activities such as theater, dance, as well as in a variety of activities through our Therapeutic Recreation program.

Our occupational, physical and speech therapists, as well as psychologists, work with students throughout their day, both inside the classroom and out.  Crotched Mountain offers a variety of residential options, ranging from community-based housing to our Children's Specialty Hospital for those students who require 24-hour skilled nursing care.

Working in partnership with families and local communities, our goal is to achieve the highest degree of educational, physical, and social independence possible for every student.  We invite you to learn more about Crotched Mountain School (Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view and print pdf files):

Miles Forma, graduate of Crotched Mountain School

Graduate Thanks
Crotched Mountain School
and Inspires All

GREENFIELD, NH - During his graduation ceremony, using his Dynavox communication device, Crotched Mountain School student Miles Forma addressed friends, family and the staff as he thanked Crotched Mountain for all that was done to help him. Now, he will move on with a clear vision for his future.

Despite personal challenges with cerebral palsy, Miles presents concern and passion toward helping others less fortunate than himself. He has devoted significant time and energy between 2005 and the present facilitating fundraising events on behalf of African refugees; initially for orphans of Rwanda and more recently for refugees of the widely known genocide occurring within the Darfur region of Western Sudan. Miles has already raised nearly $7500 for his efforts as part of his passion toward educating and networking with others who share similar concerns.

In the fall of 2008 Miles will return to his home area in Westchester County, New York to begin taking courses in Fundraising and Board Development which  will help prepare him for future employment with a non-governmental organization. Miles' ultimate career goal is to work with other fundraisers who share similar views toward the plight of refugees from the African nations of Rwanda and Sudan.

We invite you to listen to his inspirational graduation speech.
