John
John, a student at the Crotched Mountain School had severe to profound cognitive impairments, was not able to ambulate independently, and was subject to recurrent respiratory infections and missed school on a regular basis.
The School Partnership Program (SPP) provided training to John's team on object communication systems and created a report that reviewed guidelines for infection control, that among other suggestions, helped the school team understand the causes and consequences of John's frequent infections. The SPP report eased John's transition into middle school as it fully explained his medical and educational needs to his new teachers. |
