Audiology

Hearing loss affects one in ten people in the United States. It’s a common condition that can be embarrassing, frustrating and isolating. Thanks to proper testing and improved technology, today’s hearing devices can help people hear sounds naturally and clearly, making conversations and activities enjoyable again.

We have Moved!

Effective December 15, 2014, Crotched Mountain's audiology department is moving its offices from the Bond Wellness Center at Monadnock Community Hospital to the offices of Bard Chiropractic Practice at 91 Hancock Road, Unit #5 in Peterborough. When to Have a Hearing Test

Sometimes hearing loss happens rapidly. But for most of us hearing loss creeps slowly into our lives, and begins to be detected in small, but significant ways. If you have one or more of the following experiences on a regular basis, contact us to have a hearing test with one of our licensed audiologists.

  • People seem to mumble or speak in a soft voice
  • You feel tired or irritable after a long conversation
  • You sometimes miss key words in a sentence
  • You frequently need to ask people to repeat themselves
  • It’s difficult to follow a conversation when you are in a group or crowded restaurant
  • You often need to turn up the volume on your TV or radio
  • It’s difficult to hear the doorbell or telephone ring
  • It’s difficult to carry on a phone conversation
  • Someone close to you has mentioned that you might have a problem with your hearing

Today’s Hearing Devices

Our certified clinical audiologists improve hearing for children, adults and seniors with the latest technologies, including hearing aids that use Bluetooth® to synchronize with phones, TVs and other audio devices. And advancements in hearing devices are made every day. Today’s devices are more comfortable and easier to use than ever before. With many makes and models on the market, there is something for everyone.
