Located on Route 136 in Peterborough, Sunnyfield Farm is a 60-acre working farm, owned and operated by Crotched Mountain. The farm is managed by a local family whose members have extensive farming experience. Farm animals include cows and horses, chickens and ducks, sheep and goats. The farmhouse and outbuildings date back to the 1930s. Since the farm was donated to Crotched Mountain a few years ago, we have restored the barns and other buildings and developed the livestock, agriculture and farming produce programs.
In addition to producing organic meats, dairy products and vegetables that are made available to the community, it also supports the vocational and social needs of Crotched Mountain clients, enabling them to experience the natural world and connect with the larger community. Students from Crotched Mountain School come to Sunnyfield Farm to learn academic, vocational and social skills through our Farm School. Both students and adult clients in our day programs take on real chores and responsibilities aimed at developing vocational, self-esteem and important life skills.
Sunnyfield Farm manages the landscape in accordance with organic and biodynamic principles to provide broad mutual support to diverse human and natural communities. Sunnyfield Farm is located on Route 136 in Peterborough, NH, 7.5 miles from the Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center campus.
