Mike is an Adaptive Aquatics Instructor, Water Safety Instructor & Lifeguard. Mike is joined Crotched Mountain in November of 2001. He performs numerous duties in our therapy and recreational pools along with the continuing education department. Duties range from: scuba diving with students and clients with disabilities; coaching the CMRC Special Olympic Swim Team: providing instruction in water fitness; teaching water safety to community participants and partners in special education (including the Rindge Memorial and South Meadow schools); as well as providing instruction as a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer, Lifeguard Training Instructor, and Professional Diving Instructor Cooperation SCUBA Instructor. Mike is a graduate of Norwich University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and a minor in Biology. He has 16 years of competitive swimming experience with three years coaching experience with the Boys and Girls Club of Woburn, MA; the Valley Swim Team in Northfield, VT; and the Triton Aquatic Club in Westboro, MA. He also has teaching experience with the Greater Manchester, Massachusetts Bay, and North Central Massachusetts chapters of the American Red Cross. He has enjoyed scuba diving: the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans; off the coast of the United States, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.
