Level I: Introduction to Water Skills

The objective of Level 1 is to help students feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely. Level 1 participants learn to enter and exit the water safely, submerge mouth, nose and eyes, exhale and open eyes underwater, roll over from front to back and back to front with support, explore floating on front and back with support, explore swimming on front and back using arm and leg actions with support and use of life jacket. 


Who Should Attend

There are no pre-requisites for this course.


Recreation Pool.


Session Dates and Times

Swim lesson sessions run for 6 weeks, meeting once a week for 45 minutes. Choose a day and time listed below that fits your schedule.


Session 1 

Runs the week of September 12, 2016 through the week of October 17, 2016. Classes that run on Monday will have NO class on Monday October 10, 2016 due to Columbus day.  This class will be made up on Monday October 24, 2016.

Session 2

Runs the week of October 31, 2016 through the week of December 12, 2016. Note: No classes the week of November 21, 2016 due to the holiday break.

Runs the week of January 9, 2017 through the week of February 13, 2017.

Session 4

Runs the week of March 6, 2017 through the week of April 10, 2017.

Runs the week of May 1, 2017 through the week of June 5, 2017. 

note: There will be no classes on Monday May 29, 2017 due to Memorial Day.  These classes will be made up Monday June 12, 2017. 


Session 6 

Runs the week of July 10, 2017 through the week of August 14, 2017. 

Cancellation Notice

Make up classes due to Crotched Mountain cancellations will be made up the week following the end of the enrolled session. Classes missed by individuals are not refundable. Credit for programs will be given to those who need to cancel a registration and do so in advance.



Community: $54 per student. Note: $54 First two siblings, additional sibling $43
