11/15/2008 - Greenfield, NH
GREENFIELD, NH - On November 15, 2008 the North East No Wind Classic II was held at the Crotched Mountain School gymnasium.
Five kite flyers from across New England competed for the top three places with points tallied toward the National Convention to be held in Rochester, MN in 2009. This was an official American Kite Fliers Association sanctioned event with 3 judges and 5 of the top kite fliers in the country competing. Scoring was divided into 3 categories; Choreography 60%, Execution 25%, Entertainment value 15%.
Clients and staff from Crotched Mountain filled the bleachers to cheer the kite fliers as they performed choreographed routines to music. After the competition, Crotched Mountain students and clients came out onto the floor to try their hand at indoor kite flying! Everyone was amazed to be flying kites, indoors with no wind!
Watch for more kite flying events at Crotched Mountain in the future.
