Crotched Mountain School provides family-driven education for children with emotional and behavioral disorders. Families play a crucial role in creating positive outcomes for their children and we involve them and health professionals in all aspects of the student's education and rehabilitation. In addition, Crotched Mountain School provides an environment for learning that is the least restrictive and focuses on building communication skills to help children grow.

Crotched Mountain School provides comprehensive family-centered healthcare to children with complex medical conditions that maximizes their ability participate at their potential in school life. Dr. W. Carl Cooley, medical director at Crotched Mountain, medical director of the Center for Medical Home Improvement, and adjunct professor of pediatrics at Dartmouth Medical School, oversees the care provided by our on-staff physicians, certified nurses and psychiatrist.
Depending on the need, students may reside in our onsite children's hospital, receive 24-hour access to medical care in our residences, access our onsite health center for emerging medical needs and administration of medications, or visit our school nurse. Our medical staff, therapists, teachers and specialists are experts in identifying and providing the supports needed for children to participate fully in school activities.
Accredited high school diplomas are awarded to students who meet state standards. In our fully supported environment, students work at their own pace with guidance, as needed, to complete the credits required to earn a diploma and transition to work, college or the community. We award diplomas in the following areas:
- High school diploma
- Certificate of completion/attendance
- Certificate of achievement
