GREENFIELD, NH - Temple Grandin, Ph.D. presented a special program entitled "My Experience with Autism" from Colorado State University to audiences throughout New Hampshire . Crotched Mountain Center in Greenfield , NH was the host of this live and interactive video-conference with Dr. Grandin. At Crotched Mountain , audience members asked questions directly to Dr. Grandin. This video presentation was simultaneously transmitted to other education centers including the North Country Education Services in Gorham, and the South Eastern Regional Education Service Center (SERESC) in Bedford . Audience members in these locations will be able to submit questions via email that will be relayed to Dr. Grandin.
Dr. Grandin has been called the most accomplished and well-known adult with autism in the world. The professor, author, and consultant will share her personal experiences and insights with interested families, professionals, and guests during this special event.
An assistant professor of animal science at Colorado State University , Dr. Grandin has won numerous awards, authored four books and four videos and is nationally recognized in the field of animal sciences and agricultural engineering. She has appeared on the Today Show and 20/20 and has been featured in Time magazine, Forbes, US News and World Report and the New York Times. She is most recently the co-author with Catherine Johnson of "Animals in Translation, Using the Mysteries of Autism to Decode Animal Behavior."
Dr. Grandin is a graduate of the Hampshire Country School in Rindge , NH where she then attended Franklin Pierce College , earning a degree in Psychology in 1970. She continued her studies at Arizona State University where she was awarded an M .S. in 1975 and she completed her Ph.D. in animal science at the University of Illinois in 1989.
