Staff Profiles: Physicians

Dr_Rocco_ChiapinniROCCO CHIAPPINI, MD, CBIS, is the Medical Director of Crotched Mountain Specialty Hospital and Director of the Center of Excellence for Neurological Rehabilitation is a physiatrist and he is certified in acupuncture.  He is a 1987 graduate of the University of Virginia and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1992. Following an Internship in internal medicine at Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, NY, Dr. Chiappini completed his residency at Johns Hopkins and Sinai Hospitals. Dr. Chiappini is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Chiappini is a recipient of the Arthur Siebens Award 1996 from Johns Hopkins University. In 2003 The New Hampshire Magazine recognized him as "Top Doctor" in the field of rehabilitation physical medicine.  He holds memberships in the American Society of Neurorehabilitation, American Academy of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation, and Association of Academic Physiatrists.  Dr. Chiappini currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire.

JAN MCGONAGLE, MD, works in the outpatient department at Crotched Mountain. She is a board-certified developmental pediatrician. She is also an adjunct professor of pediatrics at Dartmouth Medical School. She works as a consultant for neuromotor and developmental clinics throughout New Hampshire. Prior to subspecializing she was a general pediatrician for 12 years and the medical director of Cedarcrest, a long-term care facility for medically complex children. Particular areas of interest include learning differences, developmental impacts of pediatric medical illness and efforts to build resiliency in families.
