JEAN RUBE-RAINIER, M.Ed., CCC-SLP Jean has been working at CMRC for over 25 years, and was the Director of the Communication Disorders Department for 18 years. In the fall of 2006 she officially stepped down from the director's role and is now working in the clinic providing evaluations and therapy to children and adults. Jean enjoys all aspects of helping people improve their speech, language and communication skills. An area she particularly enjoys is in the field of AAC- Augmentative-Alternative Communication. She enjoys designing communication systems for those who have lost the ability to speak or who cannot communicate verbally.
Jean took a year leave of absence in 1994-1995 to work at the University of Vermont, overseeing a federal funded AAC grant. She supervised 8 graduate students as they conducted AAC evaluations around the state of Vermont. She also taught a graduate level AAC class over interactive TV. Jean received her B.S. in speech pathology-audiology from Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY and her M.Ed., in speech-language pathology from Northeastern University.
